Human Factors Consultant
Jane completed the MSc in Ergonomics (Human Factors) at Loughborough University, focusing on patient safety and human factors in healthcare and has since developed a passion for working in this sphere. Following time as a Human Factors Research Assistant at Oxford University’s Patient Safety Academy and the Ergonomics (Human Factors) Advisor at the West Midlands Patient Safety Collaborative, Jane is excited to have joined MedLed as their Human Factors Consultant.
Jane has supported human factors (HF) projects in a variety of healthcare settings, including adult and children’s hospitals, general practice, maternity care and nursing homes. By educating healthcare professionals to develop their own HF skills, she spreads both knowledge and confidence among healthcare teams to carry out their own HF and QI projects. In supporting projects with her specialist training she can undertake deeper analysis of work processes, environments and structures – enabling the enhancement of patient safety through rigorous assessment and change implementation in coordination with healthcare teams.
