Exploring Safety Culture is a one-day course that defines and delves into safety culture and it's impact on patient safety. It also provides practical implementation techniques that you can apply in your healthcare organisation.

Course objectives

This course will:

  • Explore the varying conceptualisation and definitions of "culture"

  • Establish what a Just Culture looks like

  • Examine what it means to have a safety culture and be a high reliability organisation

  • Introduce practical ways to measure or report on culture

  • Look at the influence that cultures and subcultures can have in hospitals and on patient safety

  • Discuss meaningful ways you can identify cultural barriers and mitigate for them
