Course objectives

This course will:

  • Define Coaching and why it’s a key skill in effective team management

  • Look at the difference between Coaching, Mentoring and Counselling

  • Introduce evidence-based coaching principles & techniques

  • Examine coaching approaches that fit work in complex systems and adaptive working

  • Allow you to apply the GROW model alongside a Cognitive-Behavioural approach

  • Explore learning through coaching; the facilitative approach

  • Demonstrate the Transactional Analysis model to develop effective, balanced relationships

  • Grow your knowledge about the types of problems that coachees present with

  • Help you to develop effective listening and questioning skills

  • Provide an opportunity to develop and practice a range of coaching skills

  • Be introduced to the principles of Appreciative Inquiry - how to develop a more positive and solution focused mindset
